Kustom Research took up the job to build this Harley-Davidson cafe racer for Cristin Oroszi, for whom they’d built a custom Honda CX500 in 2014. Cristin felt that she needed a little more oomph for highway and longer distance riding, and her brother-in-law rather generously offered her his 1993 883 Sportster. The Iron 883 is the bike that sits at the bottom of Harley-Davidson’s Sportster line. It features a 53.9 cubic inch (883 cubic centimeters, hence the name) air-cooled v-twin engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine makes 53.8 lb-ft of torque.
